About growX ventures
Background and context for founders evaluating this investor.
growX ventures is a New Delhi-based, thesis-driven venture firm and one of India's most committed deep-technology investors. Tracing its roots to 2008 and launching its first SEBI-registered fund in 2018, it is led by founder Ashish Taneja with managing director Sheetal Bahl and general partner Manish Gupta. growX backs founders solving foundational, often overlooked problems using cutting-edge science and engineering, treating deep tech as a mindset rather than a sector. Its portfolio of roughly 48–58 companies spans space tech, defence, semiconductors, robotics, genomics, AI, cybersecurity, EVs, B2B SaaS and fintech, and includes standout names such as Pixxel — from which growX booked a 17x partial exit at a 68% IRR over 5.5 years — alongside Locus, Bellatrix Aerospace, CynLr, Stashfin, Progcap, Aereo and RACE Energy. Fund I deployed across 17 investments, eight of them deep tech. Fund II carries a target corpus of INR 400 crore (about $50 million), with roughly a quarter allocated to seed rounds and the remainder reserved for follow-on through Series B; cheque sizes reach up to INR 10 crore at seed and INR 20–30 crore at Series B, supporting 20–24 startups over the fund's life. growX champions patient capital and hands-on mentorship for India's frontier-tech founders.
