About India Accelerator
Background and context for founders evaluating this investor.
India Accelerator (IA) is a Gurugram-based, fund-led, multi-stage startup accelerator — among the most active in the country and the first Indian program to be affiliated with the Global Accelerator Network (GAN), recognised as Best Accelerator 2021 at the Startup India awards. Built around a thesis it calls 'Destination Accelerator', IA runs a rigorous, methodical cohort program that is sector-agnostic but organised into eight industry-specialised verticals, each led by subject-matter experts and an investment committee that reviews, mentors and connects startups for growth. A key differentiator is that IA backs its cohorts with its own capital: it operates SEBI Category-I and Category-II funds and a GIFT City fund, and invests in comparatively later-stage businesses through its arm Finvolve, creating an ecosystem (its 'multiverse') designed to support companies at every stage with mentorship, market access, legal/compliance help and follow-on funding. Over recent years IA has supported more than 98–120 startups, with onboarded companies carrying a combined valuation exceeding $253 million, 12 partial exits and over 5,600 jobs created. It also runs targeted programs in partnership with institutions and corporates — including the Sanjeevan Healthcare Accelerator with i-Hub Gujarat and TomorrowLAB with Tata Steel and IIT Bhubaneswar — and unveiled a Cohort '25 offering up to $10 million in funding support.
